1/35 Montgomery's office with staff
ICM 1/35 Montgomery's Office with Staff is a model of the field command post of one of the most famous Allied commanders of World War II, British Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery. The kit depicts a specially modified army Leyland Retriever truck converted into a mobile office, including figures of the general and his staff.
Bernard Law Montgomery was one of the most important military commanders of World War II. He began his career in World War I and entered the 1939-1945 conflict as commander of the British 3rd Infantry Division in France. In 1942 he took command of British forces in North Africa, where he achieved a decisive victory over Field Marshal Erwin Rommel at El Alamein. A year later, he took command of 21st Army Group and became commander of the Allied ground forces in the invasion of Western Europe.
Montgomery directed his operations along with the officers and staff soldiers whose work was key to the success of his troops. Among other things, he used a specially modified Army Leyland Retriever truck for mobile command. This was built on a stock chassis, but was given a new body divided into two rooms that served as a field office and staff facilities. This mobile command vehicle accompanied Montgomery on his campaigns and became an essential part of his staff work.
ICM's 1/35th scale kit offers a detailed Leyland Retriever in the command version, complete with figures of Montgomery and his staff. It allows you to create an authentic scene that recalls the preparation and management of key Allied operations in Europe and Africa.
The package does not include the paints or glues needed for assembly.
